Joint ROOL/Castle Talk Planned for Wakefield

Following on from a successful talk at the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL), Steve Revill from RISC OS Open and Jack Lillingston from Castle Technology are planning to travel North and give a presentation to the Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club.

This talk is planned to be on Wednesday the 7th of February and will cover topics ranging from the Castle Iyonix, Iyonix Ltd, RISC OS Open Ltd and the Shared Source RISC OS Project.

Official new site announcement

RISC OS Open are pleased to announce that their new web site has now gone live. This site replaces the ‘static’ site which went public back in September and has lots of facilities which we hope the RISC OS community will find useful and interesting.

We’ve been working on this site in our (primarily Andrew’s) spare time so thanks to everyone for your support and patience, especially those who have been beta testing the new site for us.

RISC OS shared source initiative underpins future growth for the proven software technology.

Cambridge, 29 September 2006

Castle Technology Ltd (Castle) and RISC OS Open Ltd (ROOL) are pleased to announce plans for the opening-up of RISC OS source code. This step is a further major landmark in the development of the highly respected software platform. A primary objective is to bring RISC OS software to a wider community and to encourage growth in both the RISC OS user base and the developer community. This will be augmented by more rapid development of the software base and removal of critical barriers to use, normally associated with proprietary platforms.
